Decent tool, but price could be better

I was looking for a new marketing automation platform and came across Bento. The 30-day free trial was great for testing out the features, especially the Zapier Integration and Segment Integration, which worked pretty well with my existing stack. The platform itself is quite powerful and a good alternative to something like Klaviyo. My main hang-up is the pricing; I wish there was a more flexible monthly option instead of just annual billing, even with the discount. A quick demo was helpful before starting the trial. Overall, it's solid, but the commitment is a bit steep.

Really solid marketing platform

Used to use Mailchimp but Bento is much more powerful. I especially like the Landing Pages feature. It's great for tracking leads, but I do wish their free trial was a bit longer to fully explore everything.

WooCommerce Integration works well

The WooCommerce Integration connects easily. I needed to send order confirmations and shipping updates. Bento handles transactional emails, which is a big plus for my store. I also looked at the Webhooks for custom automations. The 30-day free trial let me test everything thoroughly before committing to the annual plan.

so much better than mailchimp!

i used mailchimp for ages and it was fine but bento is just so much smarter. i got custom domains set up super quick and the event tracking is awesome for seeing what people actually do. makes a huge difference!

Good value, annual plan

I checked out a few platforms before settling on Bento. The annual discount really made a difference compared to monthly billing. I needed something that included transactional emails without breaking the bank, and Bento delivered on that. It felt worth the purchase, especially with the yearly savings. I'm using the Email Marketing Automation and it's been solid so far.

Easy to get started

I was looking for something to manage my emails and tried Bento's free trial. Setting up a simple welcome series was pretty straightforward, even for me. It worked out well for what I needed and the interface was nice and clean.

Reliable for my business

I've been using Bento for about a year now for my small business, mostly for Marketing Automation and Broadcast Emails. This last experience, setting up a new re-engagement campaign, was just as smooth as previous times. Their Email Templates are always easy to customize, and the Analytics Dashboard gives me what I need. I appreciate that it's consistent; I don't have to relearn the system every time I log in, which saves me a lot of time. The Shopify integration continues to be a lifesaver. It's why I keep coming back.

Bento vs. other platforms for transactional emails?

V VikramJoshi 1 week ago ✓ Best Answer
Bento definitely handles transactional emails, yes. It's not an extra add-on usually, part of the base plans.

Good to know. Some platforms nickel and dime you for that.

Yeah, that's a key difference for me too.

I've heard good things about their deliverability for transactional stuff, which is super important.

Definitely. Don't want those important emails ending up in spam.

It integrates with Stripe, so order confirmations and receipts are pretty smooth. That was a big plus for me.

Thinking of switching to Bento, is it worth it for a small biz?

R RajeshKumar 3 weeks ago ✓ Best Answer
Yeah, especially if you're coming from something basic. The automation stuff is pretty good for the price.

What about the cost? Is it per subscriber?

They do have a free trial, so you can check it out first.

Depends what you need. If you're doing heavy e-commerce with Shopify, it integrates well. Otherwise, sometimes Mailchimp is just simpler for really small lists.

I'm on Shopify so that's good to hear.

I moved from Klaviyo to Bento and saved a ton. Features are comparable for what I do.

Been using Mailchimp for ages, but it's getting clunky. How easy is it to migrate my stuff to Bento if I decide to switch?

S Sophie L. 2 months ago
I moved from Mailchimp last year. It wasn't too bad, they have some tools for it. Plus, sometimes they even offer migration discounts.

C Cleo B. 2 months ago
They mention Mailchimp integration specifically, so I'd imagine it's pretty streamlined. I think you can even get a demo to see how it works before committing.

Wondering about pricing for Bento. Is it based on how many emails I send, or how many contacts I have?

A Andre 2 months ago
From what I remember, it's usually based on your subscriber count, not the email volume. So if you have a ton of subscribers, it'll cost more.
2
B Ben 2 months ago
Pretty sure it's subscriber-based. Most of these platforms are. Check their pricing page, it usually breaks it down clearly.

Is it worth it to switch from monthly to annual billing with Bento? Like, do you actually save a decent amount?

M Mark Bennett 2 months ago
Oh yeah, totally. I think I saved like 15-20% by going annual. It adds up over a year.
6
L Laura Hughes 1 month ago
Definitely worth it if you plan to stick around. Most services give a pretty good discount for yearly payments and Bento is no exception.

Hey guys, thinking about Bento for my small biz. Does it really handle everything, like marketing and transactional stuff all in one place?

B Beth 2 months ago
Yeah, pretty much. I use it for my welcome series AND my order confirmations. It's nice not juggling two different platforms.
1
M Megan N. 2 months ago
It's supposed to. They push the 'all-in-one' thing pretty hard. I mainly use it for marketing automations but I know it does transactional too.

Does Bento offer any kind of discount for non-profits? Trying to keep costs down.

D Dana Nguyen 2 months ago
I'm not 100% sure, but I think I saw something about non-profit discounts somewhere. It's worth reaching out to them directly.
6
S Shane 2 months ago
Yeah, I'm pretty sure they do. A lot of platforms offer that. Check their FAQs or contact sales.
